I must say that this day was just amazing!! We saw more galleries/museums than one can see in a month. Talked with the artist, learn about what they had to do to get to where they are now. Very inspiring. LA has just so much to offer. You just have to go outside and walk around. below is a collection of murals, right outside across from LACMA  , and after that some pics from  LAX Art . We then went to another 10+ galleries. ended the night eating Ethiopian food ( amazing), and a round around China Town to finish the day.

A weekend ago I did a pregnancy shot for Stephen and Stephanie. They are cute couple that got engaged in Disney, got marry in Disney, and it was only natural that we took the pics in Disney territory.  They are such a good looking couple it was easy taking pictures. I had a great time, congrats to both of them and soon to be born baby Malvina. Here are some of the pictures.

Inspired on surrealism, specially Rene Magritte, I decided to do a shoot that would recreated in a way some of the craziness that surrealism had. Thank you to Carly Cram, Milena Merino, and Pedro Flores who helped me bring this to life. I was very happy with the results hope you like them too.

Last week Maricarmen helped me do a shot for an assignment. we were trying to re-do an ad. we head out to look for a stable that would let us do it for free, and the first one we stopped at happen to be perfect.  Versa the owner was more than nice, showed us around and even let us pet Mackenna and give her carrots in exchange of hugs.  yes, the horse would give you hugs and would come to you. thank you Maricarmen for running around for me, i know you hate it and you still do it.  thanks! it was a fun day and here are some of the pics.  till next time, peace

So on another day, we went to the flower fields off of the 133 and the 5 freeway.

Last week I had a shot with one of my classes in Encino. We shot for Cafe Mocca, a nice bistro caffee off of Ventura Blvd. Carly and I decided to get there early so we can take some photos in the area. Carly is an artist. a very talented ceramist, a crazy original photographer, and a painter, dancer, cook, she just does it all, and best of all, she is good at it and modest. we walked up and down the streets of Encino. Had a gigantic pizza at Papa’s and Mama’s pizzeria, and had a fun day taking pictures.

Milena is a very good friend of me. We met in High School, and she is one of very few people I still see from the good all Buena Park High. Milena is a fellow peruvian, and moved here just about the same time, well maybe before me. An artist that denies it, she has so much talent and she lets no one see it. That day we had an awesome lunch at a Thai restaurant with Maricarmen and then she abandon us at the mall to go take care of some problems and we just had a good time pretending we were gonna buy something.  Funny thing, we wanted Thai food so I told them about this restaurant in Garden Grove but couldn’t remember the name. Milena grabbed her iPhone and Yelped Thai restaurant in Garden Grove.  Couldn’t remember any of the names she threw at me so we just went to the best one (by yelp.com) that was in the area… As we are getting close I see that the restaurant that Yelp had recommended is the restaurant I wanted to go to. The name is Jumpa Thai restaurant and is very good!

Last week we had a 3 models come with us to this club that is being built in Fullerton. The shoot was for my available light class. The assignment was to take a portrait utilizing light in a beautiful way. We all had a blast, I followed Courtney, and here are some of the pics i took of her.

When told me she wanted to get some pictures in LA I told her i wanted to go early. She was nocking at my door 7:30 on that Saturday. Britney McKinon, Michaela Travieso, and my sister were on the way to La around 9, and we got there in like 30 minutes. The interesting part of this day for me was the fact that after watching 500 days of summer I was very interested in finding the places where they filmed it. There is this scene where the couple go to this park in the middle of downtown, well I found it! I was such a geek. We ended having to go home early cause one of the passengers was feeling “sick”. Sick of us that is.

I was completely clueless on what to do with an assignment due yesterday. At the last minute I had an idea that turned out to be pretty cool, it started with the concept and then decided to add the legs, that completed the idea.  Krista was the very helpful model that helped me bring it all together. The pictures turned out very cool, thank you Krista. This was the original idea. 

Then, the legs happen.
