I was working on a project with the help my friend David. He was a marine. I thought of doing a series of portraits of Military people and their families, telling their stories, and how their experience might of affected them or not. How are they dealing with being out? What are they doing now? It turns out that most of the people I talked to were marines, and they had gone over seas at least 3 times. Some of this guys are a little troubled, they are still adjusting to just being just regular people. I learned that most of them have seen things I just don’t think I would be OK afterwards, and I have so much respect for what they’ve done and whatever they will do. For the next few portraits I went to some of their homes and went out for drinks a couple of times with others. Its being great to getting to know them.
